SURROUNDINGS AMEGLIA LERICI – CINQUE TERRE.

Ameglia Lerici- Cinque Terre is ideal for excursions. In addition to the beautiful and  sandy beaches, there are numerous options.

Camping River village

The campsite is located on the border between Liguria and Tuscany. You will experience the real Italy in the surrounding villages of Ameglia, Lerici and the much larger medieval Sarzana.

Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre the absolute top tourist area, visit the villages and you will understand why: five picturesque villages, listed on the World Heritage List (Unesco). The colorful villages seem to stick to the mountains, with sea views – you would never go there again want to leave. Tip, do not visit Cinque Terre by car but preferably by train or by boat.

Pisa

It should of course not be missing. The famous leaning tower, where Galileo once demonstrated the working of a telescope, must be seen. It is a real tourist attraction, but afterwards you can enjoy the peace again at the campsite.

Portovenere

Also called the sixth village of the Cinque Terre. Book Portovenere and enjoy a drink on one of the many terraces, sunbathe on the rocks or berbaas over the large pleasure yachts that lie here in the harbor. You probably won’t get more Italian …………….

San gimignano

San Gimignano is known for its 14 towers that dominate the silhouette of the city. These were built by rival rich families in the 12th and 13th centuries. The towers served as a home and reinforcement, but mainly as a prestige object. At its peak, the city had around 72 towers. The remaining towers ensure a particularly beautiful sight as you drive through the rolling countryside towards the town.

Volterra

Very old city where in the 8th century BC. Much has been preserved from that period and from Roman times. Beautiful view over the typical Tuscan environment.

Carrara

The marble capital of the world. Michelangelo personally selected his marble blocks in Carrara in the Cave di Fantiscritti, one of the many marble quarries in Carrara. There are around 300 around here, most of which are still in use. A visit to a marble quarry is definitely worth a visit. If you drive towards the mountains of Carrara, you may first think of snowy peaks. But the beautiful white tops that you see are made of marble.

Florence

Florence was the capital of the Renaissance and for that reason alone you must have been there. The many churches, bridges, squares and palaces will surprise you.
