SURROUNDINGS LAGO PORLEZZA DI LUGANO
Porlezza is a small, picturesque village with nice restaurants and a boulevard. at which you can taste delicious Italian ice cream. Or relish in drinking a Prosecco at one of the beautiful terraces.
Porlezza is centrally situated in the North and therefore an excellent home base for excursions, hiking and cycling trips.

Definitely worth a visiting is visiting Menággio or the peninsula Bellágio at Lake Como by boat.
Or visit one of the splendid gardens near the chic Lake Como. Marcote is at a 10 kilometer visit from Lugano. This is a stunning tropical garden at the peninsula.
It can be reached by car or by boat.
The village of Gandria at Lake Lugano is also worth visiting. This village has been built against the slope of the mountain and has narrow and steep alleys.
Some very special and magnificent mountains should be visited as well: e.g. Monte Sighignola. Or the Monte Generose, 1,704m, a panorama mountain near Lugano, which can be reached on foot or by a train especially used for tourists.
Every Saturday there is a lovely market in Porlezza and every Wednesday a large market in Luino at Lago Maggiore.
